Week 16, at Jets: Win

It’s extremely hard to predict what kind of team that the New York Jets will be by the end of the season. Will they be in the race for a wild card slot? Will they be hanging around the .500 mark? Or will they be looking forward to their high draft pick for next season? It’s very hard to tell when a rookie quarterback takes over a franchise.

The Jets are officially naming Sam Darnold, third overall pick in April’s draft, as their starter for the opener of the regular season against the Lions. Assuming that he doesn’t get injured, Darnold will have to face another extremely difficult quarterback after already facing Tom Brady twice. It’s no offense towards Sam Darnold, but no rookie QB has ever managed to take down a team led by Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets have the potential to build around Darnold. The rookie year is just a stepping stone, but it’s a tough introduction to the professional level. The Packers will be able to get a much-needed win and set a learning curve for Sam Darnold to compete in the NFL.
