During his first press conference of the week, Coach Mike McCarthy stated Kevin King is still battling a groin injury and would be hard pressed to play this Sunday. After King left the game against the Vikings, Davon House got first crack at replacing King and did not fare well.

After giving up a 75-yard touchdown to Stefon Diggs, House was pulled from the game and Alexander inserted outside with Josh Jackson sliding into the slot.

Alexander will likely get the starting assignment this week. He has played well so far in the season and will get his longest look so far playing outside. Alexander has played mostly in the slot so far, but did not look out of place or shown any trouble handling duties on the perimeter.

Washington doesn’t have the talent at receiver the Vikings have, but it wasn’t that long ago Jamison Crowder scorched the Packers secondary. I know that was a different team with different players, but I’m certain it’s stuck in McCarthy’s head.

Based off Alexander’s play the first two weeks, he looks up for the task and a larger role. Alexander would love to get his first official interception this game should play a large factor in the outcome.
