2. Aaron Jones

In his return from a two-game suspension for the league’s substance abuse policy, Aaron Jones showed no rust or ill effects from the time off. If anything, he looked refreshed and ready to roll, something the Packers needed on a day like Sunday.

Despite only playing 17 snaps, Jones led the team in rushing with 42 yards on six carries for a 7.0 yards-per-carry average. Jones also had the longest run of the day with 17 yards. On a day where nothing much was going right for the Packers, a breath of fresh air like Jones could have done wonders.

I understand wanting to bring him along slowly, but on a day where very little was going right, the better idea would have been to stretch a little more use from Jones.

The offense clearly looked better when Jones was in the game, while giving the Redskins defense more to fear. Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams have done a good job in his absence, but Jones is a difference maker.

McCarthy said at the start of the week Jones would play behind Montgomery and Williams, but after his showing Sunday it would be foolish for McCarthy not to start Jones from here on out.
