Packers: Three takeaways from Week 4 win against Bills
3. Offense stuck in first gear
This felt a lot like the Packers’ 24-10 win over the (St. Louis) Rams back in 2015.
The Packers relied on their defense to get the win that day. They intercepted Nick Foles four times, Quinten Rollins returning one of them for a touchdown. Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The Packers won the game and improved to 5-0, but the struggles on offense continued throughout the season.
Fast forward to this win.
The offense couldn’t get out of first gear against the Bills. Dropped passes were an issue. Rodgers had just one touchdown pass and an interception. The Packers had to settle for a field goal on three drives and failed to score a touchdown in the second half.
Mike Pettine’s defense did their job and ensured the Bills had no chance of getting back into the game, but up against a better offense, like the one Green Bay will see next week at Detroit, it could be a different story.
The only thing that really matters is the fact the Packers got the victory and improved to 2-1-1 on the season. But the offense is yet to put together a complete performance this year. That needs to change next week against the Lions.
