Packers: Top five performers in Week 4 win vs. Bills
By Jesse Fry
The Green Bay Packers’ top five performers in their Week 4 victory against the Buffalo Bills.
With a rookie quarterback making his third NFL start, the Packers (2-1-1) were able to put together their most complete game on the young season, shutting out the Buffalo Bills (1-3) 22-0.
The defense accounted for seven sacks and three turnovers. Mike Pettine’s crew had the rookie quarterback confused all game by disguising coverages and well-timed blitzes. In what is hopefully a springboard for bigger things from the defense, the Packers D-line never gave the rookie much time to throw while the secondary did its part making sure when he did, receivers were covered.
On offense the Packers seemed stuck in neutral. Despite moving around better, Aaron Rodgers looked off and missed a few throws he usually makes. The receivers dropped five passes and the offense never seemed to get into a rhythm.
The silver lining of the Packers offense was the run game. All three of the Packers running backs played a role and gave the team their best day on the ground so far in the 2018 season.
Overall, it was a nice bounce-back win. Shutting out any team in the NFL is a tough task, regardless of who’s starting at quarterback. The Packers will have much tougher matchups ahead, but this could be the game the team needs to gain confidence and carry it over moving forward.
Here are the top five performers from Week 4.
