Which Green Bay Packers players should you start, sit in fantasy Week 5 against the Detroit Lions?

The Green Bay Packers obtained a much-needed confidence boost last week during their match against the Buffalo Bills.

Creating a defensive shutout is extremely hard to do in the NFL no matter how good or bad the teams that face off can be. Green Bay had cannons ready to fire against any opponent, and last week the young talented defense finally gave the artillery we’ve been searching for.

Watching the defense create turnovers, keeping good coverage, and being aggressive with the ball seems like such a foreign concept. If this is the type of team that Mike Pettine is trying to create, then he’s going in the right direction. Not only did the secondary do their jobs well, but the linebackers also created sacks on Buffalo’s rookie quarterback Josh Allen.

Kyler Fackrell recorded an impressive three sacks on Sunday when blitzing the Bills’ non-existant offensive line. It should be important to note that they accomplished a football tackle without roughing the passer! A nearly impossible play by today’s standards.

While the defense will go into Detroit on a high note, Aaron Rodgers wasn’t satisfied with how the offense played. When the clock hit zero to end the game, the final stats show that Rodgers only accumulated one touchdown and had more incompletions than Josh Allen.

The wide receivers had drops, miscues, and unfortunate injuries that limited their scoring opportunities. Rodgers got away with some lucky breaks as Buffalo’s defenders dropped some easy interceptions thrown their way.

The Packers star quarterback doesn’t feel as though his offense is quite playoff caliber yet. It’s only a matter of time before Green Bay clicks on all cylinders and morphs into the complete package on offense and defense. There’s a good possibility it could happen this week versus the Detroit Lions.

A lot of big questions linger in the air on who will be available to play. Allow me to help sort things out with which Packers players to start or sit in Week 5.
