3. Defensive line

As always, the Green Bay Packers’ defensive line was solid against the run. Outside of Kerryon Johnson’s 24-yard run, the Packers did not get gashed in the run game.

The Lions’ two touchdowns on the ground were short goal line gains that were set up by turnovers and short fields.

In pass defense, Mike Daniels, Kenny Clark and Dean Lowry did a good job of collapsing the pocket. There just wasn’t enough to garner sacks by the linemen for the second week in a row.

There was a scary moment in the first quarter. Clark went down and was riding in pain. It looked like he might be lost to a serious injury. But luckily for the Packers, Clark was able to finish the game and help hold the Lions under 100 yards rushing in the game.

The Packers will need more sacks from this group, as outside linebackers Clay Matthews and Nick Perry are not getting after the quarterback on a consistent basis. And after a three-sack performance a week ago against the Buffalo Bills, Kyler Fackrell was nowhere to be found.

Let’s hope Clark’s injury is not something that lingers around and he continues to develop into a potential All-Pro.
