Mason Crosby

It’s hard to try and start a guy after missing four field goals and an extra point attempt. Yahoo Fantasy Sports put a torch to Crosby by highlighting that tens of thousands of fantasy owners have dropped him after the game against the Detroit Lions.

Packers fans know all too well that when Crosby puts up a mental barricade, it can take an entire season for him to shake it.

Fingers are crossed that Crosby will be able to shake it. If it was only one bad game, bygones will be forgiven if he lands a great kick on Monday night.

Dropping Crosby from your fantasy roster may be jumping the gun a bit. Mason Crosby is the all-time leading scorer in Packers franchise history, so he gets more leniency towards mistakes. Just to be safe though, it might be a good idea to start another kicker this week just in case Crosby still has a mental blockade on himself.

Ty Montgomery

The bye weeks are starting to force fantasy owners to plug in some bench players to take over in temporary slots. Green Bay’s running backs on average were drafted later by fantasy fanatics in hopes of finding a good sleeper.

Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams share the potential for sleeper candidates, but their value hasn’t been put to use yet. Benching Montgomery has nothing to do with his running back abilities, but more towards the fact of how limited his touches are on a weekly basis.

Montgomery being a running back/wide receiver hybrid theoretically has a lot of fantasy potential. If utilized correctly, he could turn into another Alvin Kamara or Danny Woodhead. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any schemes at the moment to allow Ty’s potential to flourish. In the meantime, it’s best for Montgomery to stay benched for fantasy purposes.

Good luck in fantasy this week. Hopefully your team isn’t going against Saquon Barkley with his outstanding performance on Thursday night. As always, may the touchdowns be plenty, the injuries be limited, and the odds be in your favor.
