The Green Bay Packers are expected to be without wide receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison in Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy owners, you might want to start Marquez Valdes-Scantling in tonight’s game.

Wide receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison entered Monday’s game with the 49ers as questionable on the injury report, and now it looks like they’ll both be inactive.

According to ESPN’s Lisa Salters, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter, both receivers are expected to be inactive again this week.

Both the Packers and 49ers are dealing with a number of injuries ahead of this game. San Francisco of course lost starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and starting running back Jerick McKinnon for the season.

So for all of the Packers’ injury problems, the 49ers have it much worse. With Garoppolo and McKinnon, it’s possible they would have been playoff contenders.

For the Packers, it will mean more game action for rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown, who both played well against Detroit last week.

The good news is that Davante Adams, who was listed on last week’s injury report with a calf issue, is fully healthy. He will be a key for the Packers to win this game.

The full list of inactives will be announced 90 minutes before kickoff.

One thing is clear for Green Bay. Considering the amount of injuries this team has, it’s important to find a way to win tonight, then get healthy over the much-needed bye week.

It will be interesting to see whether rookie cornerback Jaire Alexander returns from injury this week, or whether we get to see Bashaud Breeland play his first game.

It’s possible the Packers decide to rest them for another game to give them the full bye week to get fully healthy ahead of a tough stretch of games from Week 8 onwards.

Without Cobb and Allison, the team will be need to be much more efficient on offense than last week if they are to have a chance of winning this game.
