Packers: Top five performers in Week 6 win vs. 49ers
By Jesse Fry
The Green Bay Packers’ top five performers in their Week 6 win against the San Francisco 49ers.
A second comeback win of the year has the Packers sitting at 3-2-1 heading into their bye. With a clutch Aaron Rodgers performance, the Packers are now able to take a much-needed rest before heading into what will be their toughest stretch of the schedule.
The Packers got the fast start they have been looking for on offense, jumping out to a 17-7 lead in the first quarter. With the advantage of two takeaways, the Packers looked like they might be able to run away with the game.
But their defense kept giving up big plays while the offense was once again stuck in neutral. And the 49ers were able to pull ahead going into halftime.
After the half, Mike Pettine and his defense made adjustments to limit the 49ers offense. The Packers D only allowed six points on two field goals and forced an interception. This seems to be the calling card for Pettine and his defense this season, but it’s not a recipe for success.
The defense was able to get a few stops when the team desperately needed them, and clutch plays from the offense proved to be the difference.
While the team has yet to put together a full game, these five players showed their value in Week 6.
