Packers: Five players to watch vs. Rams in Week 8
By Jesse Fry
3. Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison
In addition to Jones getting the run game going, the quick passing game will also have to start clicking. Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison have missed multiple weeks but look to finally be healthy and ready to go.
With Cobb and Allison, Rodgers has two experienced wideouts he can rely on. Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-Scantling have played well in their absence, but nothing beats the connection these two have with Rodgers.
Rodgers knows where these two players will be on every play.
This will be the first time since the Washington game Rodgers will have both guys. The offense has clearly suffered as the up-tempo offense and no-huddle has been all but scrapped, only being used in two-minute situations and when playing catchup.
Having Cobb and Allison back, along with a solid run game, can help the Packers control the tempo and in turn control the game. This can be the game that kick starts the team for the rest of the season. For that to be true, Cobb and Allison will have to show no signs of rust and pick up the slack on offense.
Davante Adams has had a great start to the year and having these two back should open the offense even more.
