The Green Bay Packers’ loss to the LA Rams in Week 8 gives the Minnesota Vikings an excellent opportunity on Sunday Night Football.

After a tough, two-point defeat to the LA Rams on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers fall to 3-3-1 on the year.

They had a great chance to pull off the upset, but a Ty Montgomery fumble in the final two minutes of the game ended the Packers’ hopes of a game-winning drive.

The Packers missed an opportunity to match the Bears’ four wins after their comfortable victory over the Jets earlier in the day.

Let’s take a look around the NFC North after Week 8.

Bears get back on track

After losing two straight, the Chicago Bears got back on track with a victory over the New York Jets at Soldier Field.

Second-year quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Jordan Howard ran in another.

Even without star edge rusher Khalil Mack, the Bears defense dominated throughout the game.

Chicago improves to 4-3 on the season and stays very much in playoff contention. Up next is a road game against the Buffalo Bills.

Lions lose at home

A home loss to the Seahawks could be a big one for the Detroit Lions. Now 3-4, they enter a tough part of their schedule.

The Lions turned the ball over three times, including a costly Matthew Stafford interception in the red zone late in the game.

But the Lions will now need to bounce back with two road games against the Vikings and Bears. Another loss at Minnesota next week could end their playoff hopes.

Vikings play on Sunday Night Football

The Minnesota Vikings enter their Sunday night game at 4-2-1. They host the 5-1 New Orleans Saints, who have won five straight.

With a run of divisional games coming up for the Vikings, a win tonight would be a huge one for Mike Zimmer’s team.
