Packers: Slow starts and offensive miscues must be corrected
Four areas the Green Bay Packers must fix ahead of a tough five-game stretch.
As Packers fans, we have had the luxury of going from Hall-of-Fame quarterback to Hall-of-Fame quarterback, with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, so over the last three decades we have become one demanding and hard-to-please fanbase.
Anytime Rodgers is on the field, we believe that game should be won, regardless of the competition. We have become a fanbase that doesn’t want any excuses, we want wins and championships.
For a few years now, the Packers have started off each season a little sluggish, and with each season, Packers fans grow more and more impatient. In recent years, they have not been looking like a team ready to go on a Super Bowl run, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Many games are completely put on Rodgers’ shoulders to do what he does best, and that’s to be a fierce competitor who is capable of winning football games all by himself.
The 2018 season started with an atrocious first half from the offense and defense against their all-time rival, the Chicago Bears. That awful first half was topped off with what looked to be a very serious injury to Aaron Rodgers.
From that moment on until now, Packers fans have continued to go on a rollercoaster of emotions each week with the lack of consistency, slow starts, crazy finishes, reffing woes, and similar poor defensive play, among many other polarizing topics.
I am going to go over a few things that are really plaguing this team currently, mostly on the offensive side of the ball. I believe these are all issues that can be corrected, as they are issues that the players and coaches have complete control over.
Coming out of the bye, things will certainly be looking up if the Packers can clean these issues up.
