The Green Bay Packers have dropped three spots to No. 14 in the NFL Spin Zone power rankings for Week 9.

After Sunday’s frustrating loss to the LA Rams, the Packers sit at 3-3-1. As a result, they are down to No. 14 in the latest NFL Spin Zone power rankings.

It’s been an interesting season for Green Bay to say the least.

If not for two excellent fourth-quarter comebacks led by Aaron Rodgers and a Vikings missed field goal, the Packers could be 1-6.

But on the flip side, had Clay Matthews not been called for roughing the passer against the Vikings, Mason Crosby didn’t have a rare bad game against Detroit and the Packers were able to close out victory against the Rams, they could be 6-1.

They are right in the middle with three wins, three losses and a tie.

Here’s what Dan Parzych wrote about the Packers in his power rankings:

"“Handing Los Angeles their first loss of 2018 would have felt amazing for Green Bay since this team has already lost some tough battles over the first two months, but at least Sunday showed this team has what it takes to compete with the best in the NFL.”"

The result aside, there were a number of positives to take away from the game.

The play of the defense. Jaire Alexander, Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels were dominant.

How about rookie wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown, who continue to make important plays?

With a number of tough road contests to play in the coming weeks, Green Bay can take confidence from this game.

The NFC North is still wide open. The Chicago Bears lead the way at 4-3, just ahead of the 4-3-1 Minnesota Vikings. The Packers are still right in the mix.

But after such an inconsistent start to the season, it’s no surprise the Packers aren’t any higher than 14th in the power rankings.

This team hasn’t been able to put together consecutive victories all year. That will need to change very soon to stay in the playoff race.
