4. Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Marquez Valdes-Scantling is looking like a steal as a fifth-round draft pick. MVS may have only had two catches but one was a monster catch. MVS blew right past his defender and hauled in a 40-yard touchdown pass.

Reviewing the game, there were other opportunities as well. If not for pressure by the Rams defense, Aaron Rodgers may have had time to find MVS and have more than one touchdown.

Even with Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison back in the lineup healthy, Mike McCarthy still found ways to get MVS on the field. And he is making the most of his opportunities.

MVS has speed that the other Packers receivers just don’t have.

With MVS on the field, defenses can’t just key in on the quick passes and have to respect his speed. If they don’t, Rodgers and Valdes-Scantling can make them pay.

With Equanimeous St. Brown and MVS, the receiver position looks to have a bright future. Both are big and fast receivers. Both are still a little raw, but MVS is accelerating his development and proving to be a great choice.

I think it’s safe to say MVS will have another big game or two in him before the year is over.
