Five Packers to Watch Versus the Patriots: No. 2 –  Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander had the best game of his young career this past weekend against the Rams.  The challenge for Alexander will not get any easier this week.

While he may not have to face the same type of player he did in Brandin Cooks, Alexander will have to face an intelligent route runner with a near-telepathic connection with Brady in Julian Edelman.

Edelman does not possess the same type speed Cooks did but, is just as shifty and has a knack for getting open.  Edelman also lines up most of the time in the slot.  It’s possible Breeland could be the one to face Edelman if the Packers want to keep Alexander outside but, I feel the best option for controlling Edelman is Jaire Alexander.

Breeland has not yet played a down this season, and his first assignment shouldn’t be Julian Edelman.

Alexander will no doubt be up to the task regardless of who he faces.  Alexander’s swag and ability will be the perfect foe for Edelman.

I also have no doubt Alexander will relish the opportunity to go against Tom Brady in prime time.

If there ever was a game for a player like Jaire Alexander to announce to the world he’s here it’s this game.
