Five Packers to Watch Versus the Patriots: No. 4 – Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Much like the 2014 game, it will take a rookie to step up and make a few plays.  Bill Belichick is known for taking away the team’s best weapons and making the lesser known commodities beat you.

I feel “The Hoodie” will look to take away Devante Adams, Randall Cobb, and Jimmy Graham.  Next on that list would be Geronimo Allison. This should leave Marquez Valdes-Scantling with one-on-one coverage more often than any other player.

MVS is a big play waiting to happen every time he steps on the field.  His speed and size make him a match-up victory against just about every corner he faces, and his confidence is growing every week.  Much like Alexander, there’s no better way to announce his presence than a big game in prime time against the Patriots.

Also growing is Rodgers trust in MVS.  Rodgers is no longer afraid to throw MVS’ direction and the trust will only grow with a good game here.

The Patriots just don’t have the team speed to keep up with MVS so, a big game from him should be likely. If coverage is focused on Adams and company, it’ll be up to Rodgers and MVS to make the big game come to fruition.
