3. Davante Adams

Davante Adams‘ streak of 130-yard games was stopped at three last week as he finished with only 40 against the Patriots.

Cornerback Xavien Howard has quietly become the Dolphins’ best player on defense and is likely to follow Adams around the field. Howard fared well against Amari Cooper and Allen Robinson, but this week will be his toughest test since DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins had two touchdown grabs against Howard, and Adams could have the same success.

Howard stands at six-feet-one and weighs close to 200 pounds, close to the same measurements of Adams. Howard has the strength and length to jam Adams at the line and not allow a clean release.

What Howard doesn’t have is the speed to play catch-up should Adams get past him. Adams is quick at the line and even the best corners in the game cannot avoid getting beat by Adams at the line. His quick feet and smooth route-running makes him a dangerous weapon against the third-year corner.

Even if the Dolphins decide to take a page out of the Patriots playbook and double Adams all game long, I don’t think they have enough talent around the secondary to keep the Packers receivers down for long.
