Packers: Lombardi Ave staff predict Week 10 game vs. Dolphins
The Lombardi Ave staff have made their predictions for the Green Bay Packers’ must-win game against the Miami Dolphins.
To run the table, you must first pick up one victory. That win must come Sunday against the Miami Dolphins if the Green Bay Packers are to begin climbing the mountain and make a playoff push in the second half of 2018.
After two tough road defeats, Green Bay returns to Lambeau Field to host the Miami Dolphins.
Will they pick up their first victory since the bye week? The Lombardi Ave staff have made their predictions.
Jesse Fry: The Packers need to win this game. Coming off two straight road losses and heading into another tough two-game road stretch, they need to take advantage of this home game.
It is a warm weather team traveling north to play in temps around freezing. So the home field advantage could not be better.
This could be the get right game the Packers have been searching for. If they can finally get the kinks worked out on offense and start to turn it around, the team’s playoff hopes can be renewed.
I keep hoping for that one moment, that one game where it all finally comes together and we see the Packers we’ve been expecting to see. I feel this is finally that game. Green Bay wins in a reversal of scores from the previous game. Green Bay 31, Miami 17
John Dales: It seems like every time I write one of these predictions picking the Packers to win, they end up losing. I’m willing to bet I won’t jinx them this week though.
The Dolphins defense has been very bad this year, and their defensive coordinator had his job saved last week by holding the Jets to six points. Green Bay’s offense will be far better than the Jets.
Also, I believe the defense will be able to make Brock Osweiler look like the bad quarterback that he is. The Packers win, and hopefully this marks the turning point in the season. Green Bay 35, Miami 17
Kyle Hoffenbecker: First of all, the records of the Packers and Dolphins don’t say how good and bad these teams really are. The Packers enter this game at 3-4-1. If not for a couple missed field goals, a bad roughing the passer call, and a Ty Montgomery fumble, Green Bay is a 5-4 team.
The Dolphins currently sit at 5-4, but they have played a lot of bad teams. They beat the Jets twice, a decent Titans team, and a horrible Raiders team. They were blown out by the Patriots and Texans while losing by double digits to the Lions. The Dolphins aren’t as good as their record says, and the Packers aren’t as bad as their record shows.
Also, Aaron Rodgers doesn’t lose at Lambeau Field. The last Lambeau Field loss started by Rodgers was two years ago to the Colts. Since then, the Packers are 10-0-1.
Green Bay needs this game way more than the Dolphins need it. Now, Miami has a chance to make the playoffs in the AFC, but the Packers’ season is on the line. If they can’t beat Miami, they don’t deserve to make the playoffs.
This game won’t be a walk in the park either. The Packers ultimately get the victory, but it will be closer than many think because the Packers are struggling at the moment. Hopefully, this win gives the team some momentum as we head into the home stretch of the regular season. Green Bay 27, Miami 17
Freddie Boston: This team is yet to put together a complete performance on both sides of the ball, so I have a hard time believing that will change here.
That said, this game is in Green Bay, the Packers are the better team and they often play their best football when they enter a must-win situation.
Hopefully the 3-4-1 record will add a sense of urgency this team has lacked all season long and it will lead them to a comfortable victory. Green Bay has an excellent opportunity to build some confidence with a convincing home victory against a struggling Dolphins team.
While I don’t expect it to be as one-sided as many would have expected before the season, the Packers do get the victory they so desperately need. Green Bay 24, Miami 14
