Green Bay Packers: Three teams to root for in Week 10
Three teams can help the Green Bay Packers in Week 10.
Unless the Green Bay Packers start winning games, they can forget about the playoffs.
But at 3-4-1, they could also use a little bit of help around the NFL each week. In particular, AFC teams taking on teams in the NFC playoff race can really help out Green Bay.
With that in mind, along with a Packers victory against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, these three teams can help them out:
Detroit Lions (at Bears)
While the Lions aren’t completely out of the NFC North race — they enter this week level on wins with the Packers — I don’t view them as a playoff team. They’ve already lost five games and still have a tough schedule to come.
But if Detroit can pick up a victory on the road at Chicago this week, the Packers would have the opportunity to pull within a game of the division-leading Bears.
The Bears have won two straight, and at 5-3, have put some daylight between themselves and the Packers.
The Lions can help out two other teams in their own division with a win here.
Cleveland Browns (vs. Falcons)
All of a sudden the Falcons are right back in playoff contention. They looked well out of it at 1-4, but have since won three straight and enter Week 10 a game ahead of the Packers.
This week they’re on the road against the 2-6-1 Browns. Any time an AFC team can defeat an NFC contender, the better for the Packers.
Atlanta will be expected to win a fourth straight, but an upset victory for Cleveland would be good news.
LA Rams (vs. Seahawks)
We can officially forget about the LA Rams. They will win most weeks and end up with one of the top two seeds in the NFC.
The Seahawks, however, are still in wild-card contention at 4-4. If the Rams can bounce back this week at home, as they are expected to do, they can hand Seattle a fifth loss on the season and hurt their playoff chances.
Green Bay needs to be nearly perfect for the rest of the season, but getting a little help along the way will only improve their playoff odds.
