Packers: Lombardi Ave staff predict Week 11 game vs. Seahawks
The Lombardi Ave staff have made their predictions for the Green Bay Packers’ road game against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Packers finally got a victory last week against the Dolphins, but they now face a short week and a trip to Seattle.
Four years on from the heartbreaking NFC Championship Game, can the Packers win a fourth straight against the Seahawks?
The Lombardi Ave staff have made their predictions for Thursday Night Football.
Jesse Fry: With a short turnaround and a banged up secondary, this could be a tough week for the Packers. The Seahawks are coming off a narrow loss to the NFC West division-leading Rams and need a victory to hold out hope for a playoff berth.
The Packers are in the same boat and can’t afford many, if any, more losses.
The fact that Seattle is the home team in this one gives them the edge. It’ll be another hard fought game from both teams but in the end I feel the injuries and travel get to the Pack. Seattle 27, Green Bay 24
Nile McNair: Green Bay will seek some measure of revenge Thursday night versus Seattle. The motivation from this being a must-win game, and what happened the last time Green Bay played in Seattle, will lead the Packers to victory.
Also, Aaron Jones should be poised to have another breakout game, since Seattle gives up over 118 rushing yards per game. Not to mention the holes in their secondary that Aaron Rodgers should be able to exploit.
On a short week the Packers will win a tough road game in Seattle with a final score of 27-17. Green Bay 27, Seattle 17
John Dales: This is about as close to a must-win game for the Packers as there could be at this point in the season. If they win, they’re right back in the discussion to take the NFC North crown, and a loss all but ends these hopes.
The Packers’ winless record away from Lambeau along with the continued absence of Randall Cobb and a depleted secondary seem to foreshadow a disappointing loss this Thursday.
There’s still something inside me that believes in this team and this season, but I’m going to pick with my head and not my heart in this one, hoping that I end up being wrong. Seattle 31, Green Bay 27
Freddie Boston: The Packers have the talent to win this game. Mike Pettine’s defense has been playing well since the bye week. Aaron Jones has been outstanding, and when given a featured role he makes the entire offense better. Then, of course, there’s Aaron Rodgers.
But the Seahawks are in a similar position to the Packers, fighting to stay in the playoff race. They are at home on a short week, and that gives them the advantage. Road teams are 2-8 on Thursday nights this season.
Seattle ranks first in rushing offense, so Green Bay’s front seven will need to be up to the challenge. That’s easier said than done.
If the Packers offense leans on Jones and can be efficient in the red zone like last week against Miami (and not like their last trip to Seattle), they’ll have a chance.
I think the Packers keep it close, but lose again on the road. Seattle 24, Green Bay 20
