4. Tramon Williams

As previously stated, the Packers will have as many as four rookies on the field at key moments in this game. Tramon Williams must be the glue that holds them all together.

Even when there aren’t four rookies on the field, the Packers are likely to only have two players who aren’t playing on rookie contracts: Williams and Bashaud Breeland.

Breeland’s status for the game is still up in the air because of a groin injury. If Breeland is unable to go, Williams may return back to corner with a combination of Raven Greene, Jones and Ibraheim Campbell at safety.

Williams’ communication skills will be just as important as his physical skills in this game. Whether he plays safety or corner, he will need to be the one ensuring the secondary is lined up and aware of their assignment.

The Packers have seemed to rid themselves of communication problems that plagued the team a year ago. Williams will be the man to ensure they don’t return.

It’s only been two games since the Packers traded Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and we won’t know the full effect of the trade until later in the season. But, so far, Williams has played just as well, if not better than his predecessor.

Other than one missed tackle on Josh Gordon, Williams has played mistake-free football and has given the Packers a veteran voice in the back end. He will be even more vital this week.
