Five players to watch for Packers Week 11 vs. Seahawks
By Jesse Fry
5. Marquez Valdes-Scantling
Marquez Valdes-Scantling has taken a step in the right direction week after week. He has gone from a fifth-round pick no one expected much from, to the Packers’ number two receiver in just two short months. I expect that to continue this week.
MVS’ numbers the past two weeks have not been spectacular, but he has still found ways to be a key contributor in the Packers passing game, catching passes at pivotal times.
I think this is the week he puts up monster numbers. MVS has been an off-target pass or two away from turning his decent numbers into something greater.
I expect Aaron Jones and Davante Adams to get most of the attention this week from Seattle’s defense. If Jones gets rolling early and the play-action pass opens up, MVS will have time to use his speed on double moves and hesitant safeties to get open deep.
The precision-passing game and run game should, and will, be the key to success for the Packers. But a well-timed deep throw can be the dagger the offense needs. The Packers finally seem to have that guy.
Seattle is a hard team to peg, it is 4-5 but has not yet beat a team with a winning record. The Packers have not yet won a game on the road. What better place to get their first and get a hot streak rolling?
I expect this to be a hard fought, close game. The Packers would be better not letting it get close. We all know strange things happen in Seattle in the fourth quarter when these two teams meet.
