4. Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander’s stats don’t look as impressive as they have in other games, but he has been playing great football.

There isn’t one play that sticks out in this game to show how good he’s been, but strangely, that’s a good thing.

On one deep pass, Alexander was beat by Tyler Lockett but recovered while the ball was in the air. Raven Greene overran the play and into Lockett causing a pass interference. It was not necessary, Alexander was in good position to make a play despite having been beat initially.

Alexander is clearly one of, if not the best defender the Packers have right now. It’s getting to be that time of year where rookies start to slow down and hit that preverbal “rookie” wall. The Packers cannot afford for that to happen to Alexander.

With Kevin King nursing a hamstring injury and Bashaud Breeland a groin issue, Alexander will need to be at his best. The defense seems to finally be clicking and despite all the injuries, the secondary put up a good effort against the Seahawks. Health will be the biggest thing to watch moving forward on defense.

Hopefully the Packers can get healthy over the week and get some guys back before playing Minnesota.
