5. Blake Martinez

One of the players to benefit from Kenny Clark’s outstanding play was Blake Martinez. Martinez finished the night with 13 tackles, six of which were solo.

Martinez has become a tackling machine since being drafted in the third round of the 2016 draft, the same draft as Clark.

Together, Martinez and Clark have formed a strong nucleus in the middle of the Packers defense. Regardless of how the rest of the season goes, the Packers do have some young talent to build off of.

Martinez may be off pace of his goal of 200 tackles (currently at 97) but he is still on pace for over 130 for the second season in a row.

In order for the Packers to have a chance, they are going to have to win out and get a lot of help. Crazier things have happened in the NFL. The players will have to treat each game as if it is an elimination game because the reality is, they will be. Lose one more and they are done.

It will also be interesting to see how the coaching staff plays out the season. If the Packers are eliminated with games left to play, will they start seeing what the young guys have for next season or will they be coaching for their jobs and keeping in the vets?
