Randall Cobb could be back this week, and it would be great news for the Green Bay Packers offense.

The Packers offense has been disappointing for much of the season, but Randall Cobb‘s potential return could help change that.

According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, Cobb, who has only played five games this year, expects to play this week against the Arizona Cardinals.

Cobb would give the Packers some much-needed experience on offense. With Geronimo Allison out for the remainder of the season due to injury, Green Bay has needed rookie wide receivers Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown to take on bigger roles.

Both young pass catchers have played well, but Cobb has years worth of experience in this offense and has Aaron Rodgers‘ trust.

And Cobb expects a big game from his quarterback.

“He’s getting ready to light everybody up this week,” Cobb said on Thursday, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Outside of Davante Adams, who continues to dominate and has now hit the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career, the Packers haven’t had much consistency from the wide receiver position.

Cobb can be an important player for this team down the stretch. Oftentimes Rodgers hasn’t been on the same page with Valdes-Scantling or St. Brown.

But Rodgers and Cobb have played together for a number of years and should have no trouble getting back on the same page quickly.

Cobb proved in the season opener just how big of a difference he can make. He caught nine passes for 142 yards and a touchdown, including the game-winning 75-yard score, in the Packers’ Week 1 comeback victory against the Chicago Bears.

The Packers won’t necessarily need that production from Cobb on Sunday against the Cardinals, but they need an experienced receiver who Rodgers trusts. A player than can help extend drives and make important plays for this team.

Cobb can help this offense, and if he’s 100 percent healthy and ready to go this week, it’ll be great news for the Packers.
