Packers vs. Falcons Week 14: Start time, TV info and more
Everything you need to know ahead of the Green Bay Packers’ Week 14 game at home against the Atlanta Falcons.
It’s been a busy week for the Green Bay Packers, but they still have four games to play starting Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
After the Packers fired Mike McCarthy following last week’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals, they have named Joe Philbin as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Will we see many changes under Philbin?
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game:
Date: Sunday, Dec. 9
Kickoff time: 12:00 p.m. CT
Stadium: Lambeau Field
TV channel: FOX
Live stream: FuboTV
Predictions: Picks for every Week 14 game
It’s rare a game between the Packers and Falcons is considered meaningless. You have to go all the way back to 2007 to find the last season that both teams failed to reach the playoffs.
The Falcons have won the past three meetings between these two teams, including the NFC Championship Game two years ago, but all three games were played in Atlanta. It’s been four years since Atlanta’s last trip to Lambeau Field, which resulted in a 43-37 Packers victory.
This has been a disappointing season for both teams.
For the Falcons, a Super Bowl appearance two years ago was followed up with a divisional round exit last season. They entered the 2018 season as one of the NFC favorites, but enter Week 14 at 4-8, potentially on their way to a top 10 draft pick.
The Packers are in a similar position. With a healthy Aaron Rodgers two years ago they reached the NFC Championship Game, their eighth consecutive season in the playoffs. Last year’s 7-9 finish was put down to missing Rodgers for half the year.
But this season has been just as disappointing, the Packers entering this game at 4-7-1 and almost certainly out of the playoff race.
It’s all about 2019 for two teams that should get right back into playoff contention. It’s going to be an interesting offseason for both teams, but first they meet at Lambeau Field.
