Five players to watch for the Green Bay Packers in Week 15.

The Green Bay Packers passed their first test in the Joe Philbin era with a 34-20 win over the struggling Atlanta Falcons.

Philbin returned to the quick passing game to get the offense rolling and in a rhythm. Aaron Rodgers made quick decisions and used his legs to get the Packers out of trouble.

The defense was able to come up with two turnovers, returning one for a touchdown, and rookie Jaire Alexander more than held his own against one of the game’s best in Julio Jones.

Now the Packers will get a true test going against the NFC North-leading Bears.

There’s no need to tell Packer fans how big this game is. It’s “Da Bears” who are currently sitting in first place after Green Bay has had a stranglehold over the division for many years. The Bears have finished in last place in the NFC North since 2013.

If you are a Packers fan and are within shouting distance of a Bears fan, they will let you know so you don’t forget.

This is the NFL’s oldest rivalry, these teams hate each other. It’s in their DNA to. The games may not be as hostile as they once were, but don’t for one second think the Bears or Packers want to lose to the other.

It doesn’t matter if the game is for the division or for pride, these teams want to beat each other. There is, however, something to play for in this game.

The Packers have three things they can accomplish by winning this game.

First, they can hold off the Bears’ claim to the NFC North title for one more week, well, unless the Vikings lose. If that is the case, at least they didn’t get it with a win over the Packers. Which by the way is kind of a double-edged sword. We need the Vikings to lose for the Packers’ playoff chances.

Second, keep their slim playoff hopes alive (regardless of the Vikings outcome for one more week).

Third, and maybe most important, complete the season sweep of the hated Bears.

In order for that to happen, these five players need to step up in a big way.
