Packers: Aaron Rodgers’ career success against the Bears
By Paul Bretl
Aaron Rodgers has had great success against the Chicago Bears over his career and he will lead the Green Bay Packers into Soldier Field looking to pull off the upset.
The Green Bay Packers will enter Week 15 of the regular season with their playoff hopes on life support and on the road to face a tough Chicago Bears team.
Chicago is coming off of perhaps its biggest win of the season, defeating the LA Rams at Soldier Field in Week 14.
Against Green Bay, the Bears will have the opportunity to not just beat their hated rival but to also clinch the NFC North title with a win, which would be their first since 2010.
Other teams with a 5-7-1 record heading into Soldier Field in December to face this Bears team would be given little chance of winning, but other teams don’t have Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback.
To put it simply, since taking over as starting quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers has dominated the Chicago Bears.
In games where Rodgers has started, the Packers are 16-4 when facing the Bears, and one of those losses came after he left the game with a broken collarbone.
Over his career, Rodgers has completed 67.67 percent of his passes and has totaled 4,882 passing yards. He’s also thrown 45 touchdowns to just nine interceptions and has a QBR of 108.3 when facing Chicago.
In addition to the stats, Rodgers has given us a few memorable moments as well.
We all remember the game-winning touchdown pass to Randall Cobb in the final minute of Week 17 to clinch the NFC North in 2013.
Then during Green Bay’s improbable “Run the Table” stretch, Rodgers hit Jordy Nelson for a 60-yard pass to set up Mason Crosby for the game-winning field goal.
And of course, we can’t leave out Week 1 of this season. Even on one leg, Rodgers led a second half comeback after the Packers trailed 20-0 at half.
The Green Bay Packers have taken eight of their last nine games from the Chicago Bears under Aaron Rodgers, including the last four in a row.
There is no question that Sunday’s game is going to be a difficult one for the Packers, especially considering that they are still winless on the road in 2018.
However if there is one player who will be able to will this team to a victory over the Chicago Bears, it’s Aaron Rodgers.
