2. Jake Kumerow

Doing this list this week was a little more difficult than most. Even in the Packers’ losses there was usually players who stood out enough to warrant making the list. This week was difficult to examine offensive players due to Kizer’s performance.

Jake Kumerow though, looked good in his limited opportunities. His numbers aren’t good or even close to good, but he did make a difficult catch on a Kizer pass that should have made for an easy first down.

Kizer threw high and floated the ball on an out route to Kumerow, causing him to have to make a tough over-the-shoulder catch and get both feet in bounds.

Kumerow looks like he belongs. With Davante Adams out, I thought Kumerow would get an expanded role and be able to work with Rodgers more than he has before. Rodgers’ concussion would not allow that to be, so Kunerow had to play a majority of the game with a quarterback who looks overmatched by the NFL.

Kizer proved, if anything, the search for Rodgers’ backup is not and should not be over. Kizer seemed to lack any kind of touch throwing the ball and should face more competition than Tim Boyle going into training camp next year.
