From the Rams

Balance.

Judging by the hiring Matt LaFleur has done already, the Packers will look to have better balance on offense. New offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has a strong background with the running game and can get the most out of Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams.

Coming from McVay and the Rams, I’m certain there will be many elements of that team already incorporated. But one thing LaFleur shouldn’t forget is the balance that McVay relies on. Even when Todd Gurley went out with an injury, he still leaned heavily on the run game to get his desired results. C.J. Anderson filled in and didn’t miss a beat.

In the divisional round the Rams used both Anderson and Gurley equally and effectively to run over the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers do not have anyone the quality of Gurley, but they do have two capable backs that can be relied on.

We have no idea what a Matt LaFleur team will look like. I for one like the uncertainty and look forward to seeing what happens. The 2019 season will be the start of a new era for the Green Bay Packers; here’s hoping LaFleur can start the next 100 years with the same success of the first.
