Green Bay Packers: Full list of free agents this offseason
Here’s a list of the Green Bay Packers’ free agents this offseason.
Before the Green Bay Packers begin to sign free agents from other teams or make their 10 selections in the 2019 NFL Draft, they’ll need to decide which players they want to re-sign.
With a new head coach, it’ll be interesting to see how many players the Packers keep this offseason.
Here’s a list of the Packers’ 2019 free agents:
Unrestricted free agents
- Byron Bell, OL
- Bashaud Breeland, CB
- Ibraheim Campbell, S
- Randall Cobb, WR
- Davon House, CB
- Lance Kendricks, TE
- Marcedes Lewis, TE
- Clay Matthews, OLB
- Eddie Pleasant, S
- Jake Ryan, LB
- Muhammad Wilkerson, DE
Re-siging Bashaud Breeland should be the priority for general manager Brian Gutekunst. With a full offseason in Green Bay, Breeland can be a key part of the secondary alongside Jaire Alexander and Kevin King next season.
It’s possible the Packers decide to let most of the players on this list walk. With new head coach Matt LaFleur taking over and Gutekunst only in his second year as GM, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the team let many of the veteran players like Clay Matthews and Randall Cobb leave.
Restricted free agents
The Packers should bring Geronimo Allison back. Allison has Aaron Rodgers‘ trust and the offense was much stronger with him on the field last season. If Cobb isn’t re-signed, Davante Adams will be the only pass catcher on the team with more than one year of experience working with Rodgers.
While the development of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown is important, and it’s also likely the team will add another pass catcher or two in the offseason, the Packers should also re-sign Allison.
Exclusive rights free agents
- Fadol Brown, DE
- Reggie Gilbert, DE
- Jake Kumerow, WR
- Justin McCray, G
- Adam Pankey, T
- Lucas Patrick, G
- Robert Tonyan, TE
Robert Tonyan has a lot of potential, and with Lance Kendricks and Marcedes Lewis hitting free agency, I think there’s a good chance Tonyan is back in 2019.
Jake Kumerow has made plays whenever he’s been given an opportunity, so it’ll be interesting to see whether he returns too.
With a need at guard, the Packers could decide to bring back one of Justin McCray or Lucas Patrick for depth.
