Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

The Packers selecting a wide receiver seems less likely than the other two positions in this article, but it’s possible, especially if Marquise Brown is still on the board at No. 30.

If Randall Cobb leaves in free agency, the Packers could be looking for a receiver in the early rounds of the draft. The position would become an even bigger need if they also don’t re-sign Geronimo Allison, who is a restricted free agent.

Davante Adams is one of the best receivers in the NFL as he proved with another Pro Bowl season in 2018. Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown both have a lot of potential. But Marquise Brown could be the deep threat the Packers offense desperately needs.

Sayre Bedinger of NFL Mocks has Brown going at No. 22 to the Baltimore Ravens in his latest NFL mock draft, but if he’s still there eight picks later, he would be a player for Brian Gutekunst to seriously consider.

Bedinger wrote: “Brown is an incredibly effective playmaker with his speed and after-the-catch abilities.”

The Packers typically don’t draft wide receivers in the first round, but with Brown they could make an exception. The offense has lacked a true deep threat the past few years, and Brown could be the answer.
