3. Fix pass rush

Defense wins championships. But as long as the offense is playing at a high level, Green Bay’s defense just needs to be good enough. But one area the unit has to improve is the pass rush, specifically at edge rusher.

Kyler Fackrell was the only edge rusher on the roster to make a significant contribution to the team’s sack total in 2018 with 10.5. He did have two three-sack games, but he also had eight games without a sack. Fackrell will be an important part of the rotation next season, but the Packers still need more talent at edge rusher.

The Packers have the resources to make some big moves at the position this offseason, with approximately $35.27 million in cap room, according to Over The Cap, and 10 draft picks this April.

Whether through a big free agency signing, an early-round draft choice, or probably a combination of the two, the Packers need to fix the pass rush this spring.

With an improved pass defense the Packers will have a much better chance competing against the elite offenses of the LA Rams and New Orleans Saints in the NFC, who they could meet in the playoffs.

Improving on defense starts with the pass rush.
