The latest Green Bay Packers mock draft roundup following the Super Bowl.

The NFL season is over, and we now know the complete draft order for the first round.

Of course, as we’ve known for a while the Green Bay Packers will be picking twice in the opening round, at No. 12 and No. 30. That’s a great position to be in.

Who could the Packers take with their two picks in the first round?

Joe Marino of The Draft Network: TE T.J. Hockenson (Iowa) and EDGE Jachai Polite (Florida)

T.J. Hockenson is becoming a more and more popular name to Green Bay seemingly by the day. Is No. 12 a bit high for a tight end? Who cares? Hockenson could be a great addition to the offense.

Chad Reuter of NFL.com: EDGE Montez Sweat (Mississippi St.) and RB Elijah Holyfield (Georgia)

It’s also possible they select an edge rusher at 12th overall, and Chad Reuter of NFL.com believes it could be Montez Sweat. Could the Packers select a running back on Day 1?

Will Brinson of CBS Sports: TE T.J. Hockenson (Iowa) and EDGE Brian Burns (Florida St.)

Another pick for Hockenson here. He seems to be flying up draft boards, and the way this is going he won’t even be available for the Packers at No. 12.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report: EDGE Clelin Ferrell (Clemson) and TE T.J. Hockenson (Iowa)

But this mock draft shows the difference in opinion many analysts have. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report believes he’ll still be available at No. 30.

Takeaways

I completely understand the T.J. Hockenson love. Is tight end the Green Bay Packers’ top need? Maybe not, but it’s still an area they need to strengthen this offseason, and if Hockenson is there at No. 12 it may be too difficult to pass him up.

The Packers need to add talented football players as often as they can, and if he’s the best player available when they hit the clock, I disagree with not selecting him because edge rusher is a bigger “need”.

A combination of Hockenson and an edge rusher in the first round would be a perfect start.
