Andre Dillard, OT, Washington State

It’s about time the Packers focused on their offensive line, and Washington State tackle Andre Dillard could be an option at No. 12 overall.

While the Packers are currently set at the two starting positions at tackle, Bryan Bulaga has a long injury history and is entering the final year of his contract. Green Bay needs to look to the future at the position, and a tackle pairing of David Bakhtiari and Dillard could set the Packers up for long-term success at the position.

While strengthening the right guard position, and adding more depth in general at the offensive line, is also a priority, Brian Gutekunst can focus on that later in the draft. At No. 12, it’s all about adding one of the draft’s best players, and ideally at a premier position.

Dillard’s strong performance at the scouting combine will help his chances of being selected high in the draft. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com believes Dillard was one of the winners at the combine this week:

"“Dillard clocked a 4.96 40 and showcased terrific movement skills in drills. With few edge blockers matching Dillard’s technical ability and athleticism, the stout offensive tackle has a chance to be a top-15 pick.”"

For too long, the Packers haven’t put enough of a focus on adding offensive linemen high in the draft. That could change this year.

If Brian Gutekunst considers a tackle with his first selection, Dillard might be the best option.
