Packers News: Potential first-round targets in 2019 NFL Draft
A roundup of the latest Green Bay Packers articles for Wednesday, March 6.
Good morning and welcome to the Packers News Report. A number of top defensive players are set to hit free agency, including at the safety position. That’s great news for the Green Bay Packers.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Tuesday that the Baltimore Ravens have cut six-time Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle.
And Matt Verderame of FanSided put together a list of safeties who could all be available when free agency begins next week.
Safety is one of Green Bay’s biggest needs this offseason. With plenty of cap room available, it’ll be interesting to see whether general manager Brian Gutekunst looks to make a big signing at the position next week.
Free agency begins in just one week, and the 2019 NFL Draft is exactly 50 days away.
