3. Offensive line

Strengthening the offensive line, particularly at the guard positions, remains a top priority for the Packers this offseason. Aaron Rodgers was under pressure far too often in 2018; Green Bay gave up the third-most sacks in the NFL.

They’ve made a good start by signing Billy Turner, who can play at just about any spot along the offensive line. He’ll likely compete to start at guard, but the fact he can also play both tackle positions is important.

The Packers need to think long term at right tackle, and also add more depth across the offensive line.

2. Tight end

While the Packers have brought back Marcedes Lewis, tight end remains one of the team’s biggest needs. It’s a position they’ve addressed multiple times in free agency the past few years, but for the most part, it hasn’t gone to plan.

Luckily, this is a good year to need a tight end. The draft is deep at the position, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Brian Gutekunst decided to use one of the team’s two first-round picks on a TE. T.J. Hockenson, Noah Fant or Irv Smith Jr. could all make a huge difference in Matt LaFleur’s offense.

1. Edge rusher

Outside of Kyler Fackrell, who had 10.5 sacks in 2018, Packers edge rushers combined for just 7.5 sacks. And two of those players — Nick Perry and Clay Matthews — aren’t under contract for 2019. Perry was released earlier this week, and Matthews is a free agent.

The Packers have already gone a long way to strengthening their pass rush by signing Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith.

While the team doesn’t need to use its top draft pick at edge rusher, they should continue to add talent at the position where possible. If they do go EDGE early in the draft, Brian Burns could be a great option at No. 12. A trio of Burns, Smith and Smith would make the position a strength entering the 2019 season.
