25. Philadelphia Eagles: Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama

Josh Jacobs is a dynamic talent that will surely attract Howie Roseman’s attention after moving on from Jay Ajayi. Adding Jacobs here would both alleviate pressure from Carson Wentz while also giving him a short-distance weapon in the passing game.

26. Indianapolis Colts: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss

The Colts could certainly explore front-seven talent here, but they would also be wise to take the best offensive skill position player left on the board.

Chris Ballard, as a Kansas City disciple, may be inclined to further build up the Colts receiving corps similar to what the Chiefs had during his time in Kansas City.

27. Oakland Raiders (via Dallas): Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama

It may be crazy to think that three tight ends could go in the first round, but this year’s tight end class is considered by many to be “unprecedented”.

The Raiders could explore a wide variety of options here, but it wouldn’t be the worst decision to get a young and fresh face at the tight end position into Jon Gruden’s offense.

28. Los Angeles Chargers: Dalton Risner, OL, Kansas State

Dalton Risner is a versatile talent and is the exact kind of guy that Tom Telesco would want to keep Philip Rivers upright.

This is an interesting selection for a variety of reasons, but ultimately I see the Chargers taking a safe and conservative route by selecting Risner.

29. Kansas City Chiefs: Jeffery Simmons, DL, Mississippi State

Jeffery Simmons’ injury status will scare off a lot of teams, but Kansas City is the type of team that has the luxury of being able to draft and redshirt a talented player.

Although, if Josh Jacobs were to slip to this spot, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was the pick here.

30. Green Bay Packers (via New Orleans): Taylor Rapp, Safety, Washington

The Packers would be wise to add another safety to their secondary to pair with Adrian Amos.

Taylor Rapp could be just the guy for Mike Pettine’s defense. Noted for his versatility, Rapp could be a solution to improving the Packers’ run defense problems while also providing valuable pass coverage.

Lance Zierlein of NFL.com noted that Rapp’s “run support effort and open-field tackling are clearly defined strengths that make him a relatively safe selection.”

31. Los Angeles Rams: Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama

The Rams have an evident need at linebacker, and adding Mack Wilson could make sense here to shore up the middle of the defense.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rams pounced at the opportunity to add one of the top tight ends of this year’s draft.

32. New England Patriots: Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State

Bill Belichick would likely love to trade down here if a QB-needy team wished to trade up for a quarterback like Daniel Jones, but since there are no trades in this mock, I am projecting the Swiss-Army Knife Parris Campbell to the Pats.
