The Green Bay Packers have just enough cap room to make another move or two in free agency.

The Green Bay Packers aren’t necessarily finished in free agency. While it’s highly unlikely they’ll make another big signing like the four they’ve already made, they still have the cap room to make a cheaper move or two.

According to Over The Cap, the Packers currently have $13.14 million available in cap room. Clearly, that’s not a lot to work with. But it’s enough to be active if general manager Brian Gutekunst still has potential targets in mind.

Part of that cap room will be used on the upcoming draft class. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel noted that the draft class will take up about $5 million. That would leave the Packers with around $8 million.

Gutekunst could decide not to use any of it. The money could be rolled over into 2020, or used later in the year on a contract extension for Mike Daniels (free agent in 2020) or David Bakhtiari (free agent in 2021).

Gutekunst may also decide to save money in case the Packers decide to make a signing once the season gets underway, like they did by bringing in Bashaud Breeland last September.

Another option is to use some of that cap room now to strengthen the roster. There are still a number of talented players available.

Maybe the Packers will add another edge rusher by signing Ezekiel Ansah, or bring in Tre Boston to give them another experienced safety to play alongside Adrian Amos. They could also decide to bring back one of their own free agents like Muhammad Wilkerson.

Of course, it depends on the price, but the longer it goes, the more likely Green Bay will be able to get involved.

For now, it’s hard to imagine the Packers will be too active in free agency, but they still have room to make a couple of moves.
