Thank you, Jordy Nelson.

Fifth all-time in receiving yards among Green Bay Packers wide receivers. Second in receiving touchdowns. First in single-season receiving yards and third in single-season receiving touchdowns.

A team-best nine-catch, 140-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Packers’ Super Bowl XLV victory. A former All-Pro and Pro Bowler. The NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2016, and the NFL’s receiving touchdown leader the same season.

Jordy Nelson is, without doubt, one of the greatest wide receivers to every wear the Packers green and gold.

On Wednesday, NFL Network’s James Jones, Nelson’s former teammate, announced that Jordy is retiring from football.

And that leaves just one thing for every Green Bay Packers fan worldwide to say: Thank you, Jordy Nelson!

Not just an incredible player, but also a true professional and one of the best people off the field, a great representative of the Green Bay Packers organization.

The 2015 season showed us how important he was to the Packers offense. Nelson tore his ACL in a preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Green Bay’s offense struggled for much of the year as a result.

The season prior, Nelson had posted 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns as the Packers reached the NFC Championship Game. The year following his injury, he put up 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns, helping the Packers once again make it within a game of the Super Bowl.

As the Brian Gutekunst era began last offseason, the Packers made the tough decision to move on from Nelson. He would sign with the Oakland Raiders, putting up 739 yards and three touchdowns.

But now that he is stepping away from the game, hopefully Nelson will sign a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

Nelson has produced some of the Packers’ biggest plays over the past decade, and he will go down as a Packers legend.

Thank you, Jordy Nelson!
