Improving on offense was the focus for the Green Bay Packers in the latest FanSided mock draft.

We’re four weeks away from the opening round of the 2019 NFL Draft. I like the latest FanSided mock draft for a few reasons.

In the mock, Brad Weiss of FanSided has the Green Bay Packers making a couple of moves based on need, with tight end T.J. Hockenson at No. 12 and offensive tackle Greg Little at No. 30. For a team that has focused almost exclusively on defense in the early rounds in recent years, it’s about time they put the emphasis on getting better offensively.

And selecting a tight end first is more than a luxury pick. The Packers haven’t had a dominant TE for far too long. With Hockenson and Jimmy Graham catching passes from Aaron Rodgers in 2019, the Packers would be in great shape at the position.

Another area Green Bay has to address (and likely early on) is the offensive line. GM Brian Gutekunst has already brought in Billy Turner in free agency, although it’s currently unclear what his role will be in 2019. My best guess is that Turner will start at guard with the option to cover at one of the tackle spots if there’s an injury.

The Packers need not only depth along the line, but also a long-term starter at right tackle with Bryan Bulaga entering the final year of his deal. And as Brad Weiss writes in the article, Little could be the answer on the right side of the offensive line:

"“Little is a guy who could start on the right side at the NFL level right away, possessing an incredible blend of power, and solid footwork.”"

It’s difficult to predict which direction the Packers will go in on draft day. Part of that is because of their work in free agency, and part down to the fact they will pick twice in Round 1. A year ago, it seemed likely they’d go for a cornerback. This spring, it’s a tough call.
