Wide receiver remains a position of need for the Green Bay Packers entering the 2019 NFL Draft.

A top priority? No, but the Green Bay Packers should look to add talent at wide receiver in next month’s draft.

Randall Cobb signed an affordable one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, which suggests the Packers didn’t make much effort to bring him back. It’s possible they are happy with the current depth chart at wide receiver, or it could mean they have plans to address the position in the draft.

Outside of Davante Adams, the Packers have a wide receiver corps lacking experience but with potential.

Adams has become one of the league’s very best at the position, but the Packers have now moved on from Jordy Nelson and Cobb over the past two years. Both players were two of the team’s best offensive players for a number of years.

Geronimo Allison was a key part of the Packers offense before getting hurt in 2018, and Green Bay’s decision to re-sign him shows he’s still an important part of their plans moving forward. Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown made some big plays in 2018, but can they take the next step?

Despite the potential this young group has, so far nobody has stepped up as a consistent No. 2 receiver to play alongside Adams. As a result, they should look to continue to add talent at the position.

If GM Brian Gutekunst wants to select a deep threat, Oklahoma’s Marquise Brown or Ohio State’s Parris Campbell could be great options, and there’s a chance both players will still be available at No. 44.

Maybe they’ll look for a replacement to Cobb with a receiver who is best lined up in the slot. Mississippi’s A.J. Brown could be a great addition either late in the first round or early in the second.
