FanSided’s Matt Verderame predicts playoff football for the Green Bay Packers in 2019.

A new era is underway in Green Bay, and FanSided’s Matt Verderame believes it will lead to a return to the postseason.

Following the NFL’s schedule release earlier this week, Verderame predicted every game on the schedule, and there’s reason for optimism for Green Bay Packers fans. Despite losing the season-opener against the Chicago Bears, Verderame believes the Packers will bounce back to finish the season 11-5.

But even after putting together their best record since 2014, it won’t be good enough to regain the NFC North title, which again goes to the Bears who finish on the same record. But the Packers do make it back to the postseason as the No. 5 seed, with the Minnesota Vikings earning the No. 6 seed at 10-6.

That’s where the good news ends, however, as the Packers go on to lose their wild-card game against the division-rival Bears, who advance to the NFC Championship Game before losing to the New Orleans Saints.

It’s hard to disagree with too many of Verderame’s picks. He has the Packers going a perfect 8-0 at home. While they haven’t achieved this since 2014, Lambeau Field is a tough stadium to play at as a visiting team and the Packers have the talent to win each of their home games in 2019. He sees Green Bay picking up road wins against the Cowboys, Giants and Vikings.

Undefeated at AT&T Stadium, the Packers could without doubt pick up another road victory at Dallas. The Giants could be one of the NFC’s worst teams in 2019, so that’s no surprise. Of the three road victories, the win at Minnesota seems the most unlikely, but anything can happen in a close divisional game.
