The toughest stretch on the Green Bay Packers’ schedule comes around midseason when they will play four out of five on the road.

Considering the Green Bay Packers‘ struggles away from Lambeau Field last season, the stretch of games from Week 8-13 is particularly daunting in 2019.

After playing over half of their home games inside the first two months, the Packers will hit the road four times in six weeks — five games with a bye week in between.

Kicking off the run of road games is a visit of Arrowhead Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs, who are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl this season. It doesn’t get much easier, either, as a week later Green Bay stays on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers. Last season, Green Bay faced both Super Bowl teams in consecutive weeks. This year they may have to take on the two teams that make the AFC Championship Game back-to-back.

The Packers get one game at home in this stretch with the Carolina Panthers visiting Lambeau in Week 10. That is hardly an easy game either.

Then comes the much-needed bye in Week 11, followed by two more road games. First up are the San Francisco 49ers, who have already made strong offseason moves by bringing in Dee Ford and Kwon Alexander. With excellent draft position and a returning Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback, the 49ers are a team to watch in 2019. This could be a real challenge for the Packers.

Fortunately, the final road game in this run is against the New York Giants, who may struggle to win more than five games in 2019. The Packers just have to hope the travel doesn’t have an effect late in the year and they can get the job done at MetLife Stadium.

This run of games further highlights the need to make a fast start with so many early games at Lambeau. If the Packers start the season well and can win two of these road games, they’ll be in an excellent position entering December.

But this five-game stretch will be the toughest challenge of the season.
