Round 1, Pick 12: Devin Bush, LB, Michigan

Linebacker might not be the Packers’ biggest need, but if Devin Bush is still on the board at No. 12 overall, Brian Gutekunst could find it too difficult to pass up the opportunity to bring in one of the best defensive players in the class. Bush has the potential to be a top-10 pick, but in this mock draft, an early run on quarterbacks causes him to drop slightly. The Packers won’t mind one bit.

After using free agency to strengthen the pass rush, the Packers add another important piece on defense by selecting Bush. Pair Bush with Blake Martinez and the Packers would have two excellent inside linebackers.

Joe Marino of The Draft Network had high praise for the Michigan linebacker.

He wrote: “Bush should be able to start early in his career and become an impact playmaker with the upside to be the face of an NFL defense.”

Bush would also add to the Packers’ much-improved pass rush, as he has 10 sacks over the past two seasons for Michigan. He also has 13 pass defenses since 2017.

While the Packers could consider a tight end or offensive lineman with their first pick, Bush could be a difference-maker in Mike Pettine’s defense. If he’s still available at No. 12, Bush would be a great pick for the Packers.
