Philadelphia Eagles, Pick 25: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S, Florida

Gardner-Johnson drastically improved from 2017 to 2018. You can line him up almost anywhere on defense, and I think the Eagles draft him here because of that.

Indianapolis Colts, Pick 26: Christian Wilkins, IDL, Clemson

Wilkins is a natural born leader. Coaches, players, and even scouts rave about his work ethic. I think the Colts take him not only for the talent he brings to the offensive line but also because of his character. They trust they can help straighten out his inconsistencies and help him reach the high ceiling that he has.

Oakland Raiders, Pick 27: Joshua Jacobs, RB, Alabama

The Raiders now look to add another weapon to their offense by taking Joshua Jacobs, a dominant running back from Alabama. Jacobs should fit right into the Raiders offensive scheme as a tough, downhill runner of the ball.

Los Angeles Chargers, Pick 28: Dalton Risner, OT, Kansas State

The Chargers call Risner’s name on draft day to help them solidify their struggling offensive line to ensure that an aging Philip Rivers still has the help he needs to perform at a high level. Risner has been mocked all over the place, from the top of the first round all the way to the third round. I think his value lies towards the end of the first round because of how consistent he was last year.

Kansas City Chiefs, Pick 29: DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia

The Chiefs add another cornerback to play alongside recently signed Bashaud Breeland. This pick should put their cornerback woes to rest for the upcoming season. Baker has arguably the best ball skills in the entire class, so he should be a nice addition to the Chiefs secondary.

Green Bay Packers, Pick 30: Noah Fant, TE, Iowa State

I believe the Packers push drafting a safety till the next round and grab Noah Fant, a tight end from Iowa, with the 30th pick. Fant has great value for the Packers, as his athleticism and route-running ability offer great promise for any offense.

But Fant slides down the board further than his fellow Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson because there are concerns about his smaller frame. However, a chance to train with veteran tight ends Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis should suppress any worries and turn him into a formidable target for Aaron Rodgers.

Los Angeles Rams, Pick 31: Chase Winovich, EDGE, Michigan

The Rams draft a prospect who can start on day one, and a prospect who is bound to improve by playing alongside veteran linebacker Clay Matthews and under a great defensive coordinator in Wade Phillips.

New England Patriots, Pick 32: Dexter Lawrence, IDL, Clemson

The Patriots find a player who matches their defensive scheme perfectly in Dexter Lawrence.  Lawrence has all the physical tools you look for in an interior defensive lineman, it is just up to an NFL team to develop his technique to help him blossom as a player. You couldn’t ask for a better team than the Patriots to do that.
