4. Trade up for Devin White

The Green Bay Packers added Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith, and Adrian Amos to their defense this offseason. But what is still missing is a true blue-chip player who can change the dynamic of the entire unit. Devin White is one of the best linebacker prospects in many years, and it has been even longer since the Packers were any good at White’s position. The Packers should expect Blake Martinez to have his best season as a pro, but he is just not talented enough to truly impact the game from the second level.

White is about as close to a perfect prospect as you could find. Rangy, fast, instinctive, and one of the best team leaders in all of college football, there is almost nothing to dislike about White as a player. Unfortunately, the Packers could use reinforcements at just about every position on the roster, so losing too much draft capital is a bit dicey.

If general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur believe that their defense is close to being at a championship level, then adding White could push them over the top. White could end up having a Ray Lewis-type impact on the Green Bay defense.
