Ranking 2019 NFL Draft prospects for the Green Bay Packers through four rounds.

It is finally here! The 2019 NFL Draft starts tonight, and the Packers will be heavily involved in the festivities with two first-round picks at 12 and 30 overall. Before all the hype begins, let’s get out my personal rankings for the Packers at each pick through the first four rounds.

You can read the full rankings by clicking here.

Key Notes

There are only nine players I’d be comfortable picking at 12 overall. Three of those are edge rushers (Nick Bosa, Brian Burns, Josh Allen) and two more are defensive linemen (Quinnen Williams and Ed Oliver). Both top linebackers make the cut there, as both are elite talents at the position in this draft, and the fact that there is a huge drop-off after those two. The other two, T.J. Hockenson and Jonah Williams, are the top talents at their positions.

For 30 overall, things get more interesting. Three receivers make the cut. D.K. Metcalf and Hakeem Butler both bring the upside, while Hollywood Brown has the route-running and speed to create separation at will. He’s also dynamic after the catch.

Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons slides down here because of injury, otherwise he’d be in the first group. Tackle and safety are the other spots to check out. Andre Dillard fits well in Green Bay with his experience in pass protection and his ability to stay in front of rushers while his quarterback improvises. Juan Thornhill is a name to watch at 30. He fits well on the back end of the defense.

Interior offensive line and running back both have options on day two. Josh Jacobs and David Montgomery are considerations at 44 and 75 overall for me, while guys like Chris Lindstrom and Erik McCoy are good options early on day two.

Terry McLaurin is one of my favorite receivers in this draft, and he would get major consideration for me at 75 overall. He has excellent potential with his speed and route-running ability, along with his strong hands. He impressed me a ton at the Senior Bowl.

Speaking of the Senior Bowl, a lot of prospects who were down there show up here. Khalen Saunders and Renell Wren at DL, Kaleb McGary and Chuma Edoga at tackle, along with cornerbacks Lonnie Johnson and Mark Fields (just to name a few).

Tight end is a position to watch in round three or four if the Packers don’t select either Hockenson or Noah Fant in the first. Two names I like: Kahale Warring and Josh Oliver.

Two quarterbacks do make the board. Check out and see who those might be.
