Grading the Green Bay Packers’ offseason so far, from their coaching changes to the moves made in free agency and the draft.

It’s exactly the offseason the Green Bay Packers needed. After multiple seasons of underachieving and two consecutive years without reaching the playoffs, change was needed in Packers News. Take nothing away from Mike McCarthy and the incredible career he had in Green Bay, but something wasn’t working in recent years, and president Mark Murphy was forced to make a change.

The Packers not only enter 2019 with a new head coach, but their approach to free agency is still completely new with second-year general manager Brian Gutekunst making the decisions. It’s a fresh approach, and Gutekunst’s aggressiveness makes it clear the Packers’ focus is to win now while Aaron Rodgers is still in his prime.

In a few years we’ll look back at this offseason as an important one. Only time will tell whether it’s remembered as the turning point that helped Green Bay go on to win another championship, or whether we look back at this offseason as a missed opportunity.

But we can make predictions based on the moves made so far this offseason. Let’s review the offseason to this point, looking at the coaching changes, free agency and the 2019 NFL Draft. Here are my grades for each part of the Packers’ offseason.
